Room is 11 x 8.5 and comfortably fits a full sized bed, desk, dresser and has a decent sized closet.
Newer building with central air and laundry in the building. Roof access with great skyline views and lots of space to barbecue and hang out in the summer. Best view for 4th of July fireworks! Apartment is on the second floor (pretty easy 14 step, double landing staircase).
Great central Bushwick location near lots of music venues, clubs, bars, restaurants, coffee shops and vintage stores.
5 minutes walk to Central M train, 7 min to Kosciuszko J, 10 min to Dekalb L. Lots of buses within a few blocks. Citi bikes are one block away.
This will be Ciarra's third year living in the apartment and Nate's second year. The apartment isn't huge but we do really well with the space. For example, we have a coffee table that folds out into a full sized dining table and is great as an extra workspace as well. We are very much drama free and the apartment has a pretty cozy and relaxed vibe.
As far as cleaning, we are overall a pretty clean and tidy household. We always clean up after ourselves in the common areas and do our own dishes. We sometimes leave dishes in the sink but do them within 24 hours. However, it never piles up or gets out of hand. We'd like a roommate that takes initiative to clean up after themselves and also carries their weight in the apartment as far as regular cleaning of the bathroom, kitchen, floors, garbage and recycling. We've had different systems of organizing chores with different roommates, so we should be able to find something that works for everyone. You also must be pro-active about buying supplies for the house and/or providing your share of cost. This includes things like toilet paper, paper towels, cleaner, sponges, dish soap. hand soap, etc.
Guests: Currently we only have friends over a handful of times per month, but sometimes we have friends visiting from other cities staying for longer periods such as a few days to a week. Guests always stay in our bedrooms with us and we are super communicative about any details of their stay and try to be as respectful as possible.
As far as significant others staying over, this is of course okay as long as it is no more than a few times per week and you are respectful about it. We had a recent issue involving a roommate allowing their significant other to stay weeks at a time (multiple times, without communication) and really not respecting our space. We definitely want to avoid something like that happening again.
Kitchen use: Nate and Ciarra only occasionally cook but our last two roommates were a professional baker and pastry chef and made some great kitchen creations regularly.
We are a 420 friendly household but no tobacco inside.
You will be signing on to a year long lease and we each pay our rent individually to the landlord each month via an online tenant portal. A 700+ credit score and 40x the rent in income needed for building management approval. Guarantors accepted!
