I'm looking for someone to take over my much beloved room in a queer, trans apartment:
The space: I'm at the top of a 4th floor walkup in a prewar building (built 1923, fully renovated ca. 2016) 3 beds, 2 baths, dishwasher and washer/dryer in-unit. The apartment has massive counter space, stainless steel appliances and incredibly high ceilings. Room is 135" x 108" with closet, double windows facing east on opposite side of building from street. A tree is nestled outside the room, which makes it feel like a treehouse in the spring and summer :)
5 minutes from Church and Ft. Hamilton F & G stops, 10 minutes from Beverley Rd. Q stop. Excellent local markets especially for fruit and veggies, 10 minutes from Prospect Park, 15 minutes from Greenwood Cemetery.
Your roommates: Two women in the mid 20s and early 30s, both artists. One is home often, the other works outside of the house Mon-Fri. (One of your future roommate's has an adorable and harmless pet snake that lives exclusively in her room.) The ideal roommate replacing me would either be a hybrid worker or someone who works exclusively outside the apartment. Due to serious allergies, no people with pets that produce dander are eligible to live here.
You: reasonable, chill, and experienced communicating calmly and promptly with housemates when the need arises. This apartment operates on mutual reciprocal effort in keeping the space clean and welcoming without a strict chore chart.
Accessibility note: this is a 4th floor walkup, and there is unfortunately no elevator in the building :(
This has been an exquisitely lovely place to live. I'm so sad to be leaving it. We've cultivated a quiet home that's safe for everyone to unwind and that energy is much desired in my replacement.
I'm a journalist/writer (they/them) moving from the area in order to chase a work opportunity. I've valued living in such a richly creative and queer friendly home. This apartment operates on mutual reciprocal effort in keeping the space clean and welcoming without a strict chore chart.

I'm selling my expertly installed energy-efficient Midea A/C to the next tenant for a steal!
