Support Coach and Travel Companion for Autistic 21 year old man (including days and nights)

Looking for a caring, experienced, clear communicator to work as a coach and travel companion with a young adult male with autism. Seeking a skilled caregiver who can spend every other weekend with this young male. Weekends would consist of fun outings, time home to relax and prompting and support with daily living skills.
Hours: Fridays at 6pm to Sundays at 10am, every other weekend. Position could grow to more hours over time.
Background on the client: He is very close with his family and happy to be around friends and family. He enjoys physical activities such as ice skating and loves swimming, the beach and playing with sand. He is a minimal speaker and uses an ipad mini with a program called LAMP to help him communicate. He can have some behavioral challenges when frustrated around communication.
The Ideal Coach would be:
- a clear, consistent communicator
- Collaborative and ready to work with a strong team of family and supporters, who can assist in training
- Experience with people/adults with autism and behavioral challenges
- Able to drive
- Loving dogs a big plus!
About Us
The individual in this position will receive support from the parents and Future Centered Care.
Future Centered Care provides wrap around case management services for the clients they work with. This includes: finding and training staff, identifying potential volunteer/internship/job opportunities, supporting clients in the home and out in the community, working collaboratively with the client’s circle of support and partnering with families wherever support is needed.
