We are traveling for two weeks and looking for a responsible individual or couple to stay in our apartment. In return for taking care of our space, we’re offering a discounted rate, which includes light care for our two friendly cockatiels (they spend all of their time inside their cage and just need occasional fresh water and birdseed) and watering the plants.

This is a large, bright, top-floor 2-bedroom apartment in a Bed Stuy brownstone, filled with artistic details, featuring Turkish kitchen tiles, Moroccan light fixtures, and distressed Victorian woodwork. It’s fully furnished with the second bedroom set up as an office/nursery, perfect for working from home. The open-plan kitchen includes a dining area, and there's a large, separate living room with a piano.

Amenities include a dishwasher, in-unit washer and dryer, and an upright Steinway piano (in tune). You'll also have access to a shared garden on the first floor of the building with a fire pit and a sauna on the main floor.

The apartment is just a 10-minute walk from the J-M-Z subway lines and a block away from coffee shops and grocery stores. Located in Bed-Stuy, close to Bushwick and East Williamsburg, rent includes all utilities, with a special discount for your help with the birds and plants.

We are seeking someone extremely reliable and trustworthy. Please note, the building has a strict no smoking policy and we cannot accommodate any other pets. Also, for people new to cockatiels care — they are quiet easy, and don't require much. They sleep about 12 hours a day, and sing in the mornings. They are quiet if the cage is covered with a cloth, and the apartment is large enough take calls or work from the office without hearing them at all.
