Welcome to our peaceful oasis in Mott Haven, South Bronx! Just a 5-7 minute walk from the 6, 2, and 5 trains, with a quick 25-minute express ride to Grand Central, our culturally rich neighborhood boasts vibrant nightlife, diverse restaurants, Mexican eateries, and nearby supermarkets.
Our renovated townhouse offers cozy shared spaces, including a kitchen, dining area, laundry facilities, and a parlor living room. Rent includes utilities (gas, electricity, water) and amenities like WiFi, laundry supplies, cleaning products, and household essentials.
We’re seeking friendly, community-minded roommates to share our historic yet modernized brick townhouse, which features original details like high ceilings and double doors. Since 2014, we’ve enjoyed hosting roommates in this home full of character.
Two private rooms are available:
- A small room with a loft twin bed and chair ($1,000).
- A larger, unfurnished room ($1,400), with an option for a twin mattress and small dresser.
Rent includes access to laundry, internet, utilities, cleaning services, and seasonal AC ($25/month in summer).
Pet Alert: Our home includes Lea, a playful 3-year-old cat, and Bart, a friendly 2-year-old dog. They mostly stay downstairs but occasionally explore.

Doug and I will have been married for 12 years in October! When we do the math, we feel like old farts, but we still feel like we're in our 30s. :-) When we purchased the house, our first thought was, 'Let's live with friends!'—but, fortunately (or unfortunately), most of our friends already had homes. So instead, we've formed lifelong friendships over the years with folks who have called this house 'home' at one point or another.
Doug is a forensic social worker by day and a law student by night. I'm Rose, a wanna-be city homesteader—always cooking something or making shampoo bars and homemade lotions with rendered tallow (IYKYK!). I'm currently completing a program to become a certified health coach because I'm deeply passionate about everything that can help a person live well.
Owners
The room rental agreement is month-to-month, with rent due on the 1st of each month for that month. Upon signing, tenants are required to provide the first month’s rent and a security deposit equal to one month’s rent (totaling rent x 2).
All tenants have exclusive access to their private rooms, each equipped with individual locks and key. Rooms may come partially furnished; applicants should coordinate with the landlord.
An application does not guarantee rental agreement. Landlord reserves the right to do a credit check, background check and check references provided. Landlords also reserve the right to deny applicants.
