Amazing location 120 & Amsterdam between three parks (Morningside, Riverside, And Central) and one block from Columbia University and Teacher's College - room available for rent in three bedroom apartment.
Room is about 10.5' x 11', has a window, small closet, and is unfurnished. Apartment has been renovated, has a large kitchen with dining table, living room with TV, is fully furnished, and well stocked with kitchen appliances and household supplies. Building is pre-war and has charming details like decorative molding and tile work, new elevator, and laundry in the basement.
Lots of transportation options and can get you to downtown in about 30min. It's a 10-15min walk to the 1 train at 116th st or ACBD at 125th st. There is also ZipCars on the block and CitBike two blocks away.
Move-in date is flexible December 1st - 15th with Sunday, December 8th being the most ideal on my end. Looking for a long-term roommate (1yr +) but open to shorter stays.
Roommates alternate chores every month - emptying the dishwasher & taking down trash/recycling and I take care of the general household cleaning, stocking, and upkeep. Flat rate for utilities is $125 and covers electricity, gas, internet, household supplies, shared streaming, repairs, etc..
Overall I would describe the apartment as clean, organized, and cozy. Most important thing is to clean up after yourself, being considerate of how others move through and use the space. Guiding principle - Be thoughtful and generous. Think of making things nice for others & enjoy other’s thoughtfulness making things nice for you!
I'm generally a keep to myself homebody, but do love to have a chat in the kitchen or movie night with roomies iin a we have our own things going on but a friendly nice to get to know you and spend a little time with you at home kinda vibes.
I'm very neat and clean and organized! I love putzing around the house, improving household systems and organization and decoration, nerdy home maker punk with a philosophy degree kinda vibes.
I'm a vegetarian, would be great if you are too, but not required.
I am the lease holder of the apartment.
One month rent is required to hold the room/security deposit. If you are interested please tell me a little about you and what's important to you in an apartment. If it sounds like a fit we can set up a time to have a quick 10-15min chat, talk details about the apartment, and if you are interested set up a time for you to visit. Looking forward to meeting you!
