THE NEIGHBORHOOD: the area is really the highlight here. It’s one block west of the north end of Central Park!! It’s mostly quiet and homely with the option of going a couple blocks west to restaurants, bars, and Columbia University area which means a younger, more lively crowd. It’s the UWS so, of course there’s all the charm, history, architecture and access to mom and pops, museums and more! 5 minute walk to B, C, as well as the M3, 4 for easy east side access. 10 minute walk from the 1 train. Around the corner from M11, M7, great for getting to the west villiage in one shot. 10-12 minute walk to Columbus Ave Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Target, Home Goods and lots more.
THE BUILDING: The building is well maintained and has a pretty organized and well lit garbage area. There is an elevator that’s reliable…in the couple years I’ve lived year it’s only been out of service once or twice and for a short amount of time. There’s a really nice mix of 20, 30 something year old singles and families that seem to have lived here for generations. The Super is really nice, easy going and is usually hanging around the front of the building.
THE UNIT: there’s 2 rooms available in this 3 bed, 1 bath, so if you have a friend also looking for a place, that’s great! Im looking for someone who can sign a 1 year lease that starts this January 1st! There’s in unit washer and dryer. The kitchen is pretty new and has an electric stove, dishwasher, new fridge and lots of storage. It’s on the small side so we usually take turns in there. There’s a pantry off of the kitchen as well and you’ll have access to two large shelves. There’s a large living room just off of a couple of the bedrooms, one of which is available. The second available room is off the hallway that leads to bathroom, kitchen area. The bathroom is nice and clean and also renovated. Because the unit is on the smaller side, it’s easy to keep clean and It’s super low maintenance. All the common area furniture is staying. Kind of a simple style as you can see in the pics, but I’m sooo open for a change or to swap out pieces for whatever you may come with. Most of the kitchen appliances and dishes etc can stay as well. Because of a combination of previous roommates and my own subscriptions, there’s access to Netflix, Hulu, Max, Criterion Channel and more. The whole apartment gets good light the ceilings are kind of tall so it feels open and fresh.
THE ROOM: the 2 available rooms are decent sizes and pretty similar to mine. They also get good light. I have a full bed, side table, desk and a dresser in mine and there’s room to move around, do yoga etc. The double closet is really big and has 4 side shelves and a large top shelf, as well as plenty of space to hang. Rooms will be empty and clean. We can probably get them to repaint.
I’m 32 years old Dominican-American New York native woman, she/her. I’m originally from Long Island and have mostly lived in Brooklyn. I was skeptical about coming to Manhattan but because of my heritage and upbringing and the area I feel really comfortable here which is why I’m hoping to fill the rooms and stay! This is now my second year in this apartment and I really like it. I’m a journalist and I work for a super early morning news show so I’m often to myself during the week, but I’m out and around here and there and always happy to chat and catch up around the apartment. I’m often away on the weekends visiting friends and family. Please reach out with any questions! We can hop in a call and discuss touring.
I’m a current tenant looking to fill two available rooms.
Application and credit authorization form, proof of income, bank statement, picture ID, and tax returns. I have a guarantor so you may need one too, and they will need to submit the same documents as you.
Building is cool with dogs and cats and I also don’t totally mind but would prefer no pets. I’ll be totally honest, because of my job I won’t be able to help at all with taking care of any pets. Sorry!
