RESPONSIBILITIES:
FABRICATION: Read plans and create cut lists, work precisely and accurately. Attention to detail and delivery of excellent finished products.
INSTALLATION: Understanding of cabinet installation layouts and creative problem solving. Includes deliveries of projects and maintaining a clean job site. Have a professional attitude and respect for clients' homes and privacy.
FINISHING: Maintain a clean and organized finishing room. Ability to work with wipe on and sprayed finishes. Experience with HVLP and air assisted air pump spray systems is a bonus.
SHOP STUFF: Participation in keeping a safe and clean work environment, and maintenance of woodshop tools. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds (let’s be honest it’s often more!) Track project hours and assist with shop organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a woodshop setting. Woodworking education is preferred but not necessary.
- Experienced and comfortable with table saw, jointer, planer, and other shop tools.
- Cabinetry construction and installation experience is a must.
- Self motivated to complete tasks on your own, but flexible to work in conjunction with owners and staff. Able to take direction and willingness to learn new processes.
- Good communication skills.
- An active interest in design and in joining a creative small business is a must.
- Ability to read shop plans and an understanding of Sketchup is a bonus.
- You are smart, creative, a problem solver, have a strong work ethic and a sense of humor!
About Us
We are a custom cabinetry, furniture, and design studio. Our wood shop is based in Beacon, NY and we work with a range of clients throughout the Hudson Valley, Westchester, and Connecticut.
Our projects range in style from contemporary and modern to traditional, and we love exploring new realms of design using different finishes and materials.
We are looking to hire a full time woodworker with a minimum of 3 years experience in high end furniture and/or cabinet construction. This is a skilled position only. We are preferably looking for a part time woodworker.
We are a small family owned shop and personalities matter almost as much as skill sets. We are looking forward to meeting you!
