Hello potential roommate! This cozy duplex in Crown Heights has been my home since COVID began and I'm looking for a new roommate to move in starting November 1st.
The apartment has wonderful natural light in the living room + both bedrooms and private access to a massive terrace. I'm an avid gardener so I'll typically have around 100 plants throughout the apartment during the warm months. The first floor also has a small balcony where I always grow herbs like rosemary, thyme, parsley, basil, etc for us to share!
The bedrooms are about 9'x9' (see floor plan) and your room has a closet. The kitchen has a dishwasher and I have a few appliances like a kettle, french press, and toaster oven. There are 4 ACs throughout the apartment with 1 in each bedroom.
Unfortunately, the building does not have an elevator and the apartment is on the 4th floor. Building amenities include parking, bike storage, gym, shared roof, and laundry in the basement.
The apartment is 0.5 miles from Prospect Park + the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. It is a 6-minute walk to the Sterling St 2 + 5 trains and a 12-minute walk to the Prospect Park B + Q trains. It's located on a peaceful street full of friendly neighbors and is a 15-minute walk to several nice restaurants, bars, and cafes on Franklin Ave.
I believe that covers everything but let me know if you have any questions. I'm a pretty transparent person so ask me anything.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and I hope you have a great day :).
I'm a 33-year-old Product Designer + Film Photographer from South Florida who has lived in New York for 10 years. You can check out my Instagram to see some of my work.
I'm a very considerate, clean, and quiet roommate. I'm respectful to whoever I live with and I would ask the same of you. I don't throw parties and rarely have people over. I'm looking for a roommate who lives a similar lifestyle and bonus points if you are a creative!
Current tenant
The apartment costs $4100 a month including utilities. Rent is $3615, Internet (Verizon) is $100, and Con Ed on average is $362. We would split everything in half for an average monthly total of $2050 depending on electricity usage.
$3650 is required upfront ($2050 rent/utilities + $1600 deposit). My lease ends November 30 and I will be signing a new lease before then.
I also ask that you visit the apartment so I can show you the space and see if we vibe well enough to live together.
