You would be living inside of my books, art work, records, kitchenware. I have taken care to make it a fully stocked, comfortable place to come home to (I'm a triple earth sign). I will clear out closets and the dresser to make room for your clothes and leave the desks as clear as possible for you to work on.
Accessibility info: There are a few steps leading up to front door of the building. (There is a ramp entrance via the side of the building that leads to the basement) The front doors are not automatic. The elevator is reliable.
It is a very walkable, beautiful neighborhood with tree lined streets and lots of hundred year old houses. It's very close to Brooklyn College. There are supermarkets, delis and restaurants close by. It is about ten minutes away by subway to Prospect Park and about thirty five minutes into Manhattan. The nearest subway stop (Q line) is three minutes away from the front door of the building. The Q train runs all the way to Coney Island in Brooklyn and in Manhattan stops near Penn Station and is one of the many trains that services Times Square. If you have a car, there is a lot of free street parking available.
The apartment is ideal for a quiet, mature person who is a good communicator.
I am an artist and university professor. (he/him) I have lived in New York for twenty eight years and about three years ago I began living in Los Angeles as well, where I am an associate professor at UCLA. Queer and Latinx, which may or may not explain the colorful nature of my living spaces. I clean my apartment regularly and keep it orderly. I am easily reachable by text during the sublet. I have a New York based assistant who will come through to collect mail from time to time.
Owner and tenant
NO PARTIAL SUBLET - I am not renting for less than the time advertised. Because this is a co-op, this is not an option so please don't ask.
Because it’s a coop. you will have to apply through the building's management company. Your bank info, income info, recent taxes, one professional reference letter, one personal reference letter, bank letter and a reference letter from your current landlord are ALL required. Wish it was simpler but that’s just the process. I am covering the application fee. There is a two week turnaround to be approved. Upon approval, one month's rent and a security deposit in the same amount are requested. You will receive the security deposit back at the end of the rental if everything is intact.
