For the last 7/8 years I’ve had the pleasure of sharing workspace with a lovely couple (lawyer and broker) and they’ve recently decided to make their permanent home in the Hudson Valley. I’m only here in the early hours of the day before the sunrise and on weekends, so since 2017 we’ve crossed paths about five or six times.
The space is approx 18L x 8W and has undergone several configurations over the years!
While it’s technically a 3-desk office, the three of us are currently using 2 desks at each workstation, so things can be shifted around as you best see fit.
Pricewise, it’s $315 a month per workdesk/area or $500 if you opt to take the other half of the room. Start date is VERY flexible—
the couple have paid through the middle of March, but you could move-in this week if you really wanted to.
When I’m not working offsite and reviewing architectural drawings, cataloging artwork, preparing taxes, building brands, or interpreting Legal-ese for my clients, I spend the remainder of my time composing/recording music.
If you keep regular/late business hours this is a brilliant opportunity to have your own setup at a fraction of what other places might charge for the space and privacy. I thought about getting a desk in a co-working spot elsewhere, but honestly it could be several hundred bucks a month for ONLY a desk and not even a door you can lock.
And anyways, I like the office-neighbors and the friendly experts here who I’ve gotten to know (attorneys, graphic designers, therapists, architects, video production, writers, sound engineers, and photographers).
And I absolutely love the location, the nearby restaurants + bars, and the convenience of having tons of travel/commuting options with all the ongoing MTA trackwork/maintenance.
