My partner and I have lived with our downstairs roommate for 3 years, and in this apartment for the last 2. She and the space are lovely, but we are needing a break from the city and heading upstate. Hence our bedroom and office/living room are up for sublet through May 1, 2025 with option to renew the lease if desired.
It is a 3 bedroom first floor brownstone-esque apartment with in-unit washer/dryer, dishwasher, and 1.5 bathrooms.
The upstairs (your area) includes two rooms (we use one as a bedroom and one as an office/entertainment room), a full bathroom with tub/shower, and the kitchen. This section of the apartment will come unfurnished but if there are any items from the photos you wish to purchase from us at a very discounted rate we are happy to discuss.
The downstairs has a half bath, its own living room, and a bedroom. The washer/dryer is also located downstairs. We typically only go downstairs for use of the w/d or to hang in the downstairs living room with our roommate.
The unit is located on a beautiful tree-lined residential street in Greenpoint near the Nassau ave. G stop (2.5 blocks away), and with popular food spots such as pan pan vino vino, Edy's Grocer, and Paloma are around the corner. Mccarren Park is 10 minute walk as is Mcgolrick.
The apartment (price wise) is a steal for the area, and has a fantastic amount of storage (see pics). We hope you will love living here as much as we have.
Seeking: A solo person (can work from home), or responsible couple.
A bit about your roommate: J (we'll have you meet her if we decide move forward with your inquiry) is a nurse, isn't home all that often/keeps to herself, and very quiet as a roommate. We will miss her.
I am Chantel (she/her) and I work as a dietitian and have lived in NYC for the last 6 years. My partner is Will, and our dog is named Leo. She enjoys saying hello to other dogs we pass on our street in the neighborhood :)

First you will schedule a call with myself or my partner. From there we will pass along candidates (the first ones we feel best about) to our roommate and landlord to approve.
You will need to submit these items to our landlord: 1. proof of income 2. a bank statement with proof of savings 3. evidence that you paid rent/mortgage for the last 3 months (November and December 2024 and January 2025) and 4. a photocopy of your license or passport
Please do *not* send me these items. This is just for you to know to have prepared should we move forward with you as a subletter. All of these items will be directly exchanged between you and our landlord.
We have a Pomeranian who was approved by the landlord. If you have a cat or dog it would need to be approved by the landlord, Lester.
