I'm looking for a subletter for my fully furnished 2-bedroom apartment in Greenpoint, while I am away for a few months. The start and end dates are somewhat flexible, but the latest moving-in date is 24 November 2024. I will be leaving NYC on 25 November, and would like to meet the subletter in person before I leave on my trip. Since there are two bedrooms, I'd be happy for you to move in as early as 1 November. I am looking for someone who would stay until at least until the end of March, ideally into April.
The apartment is close to the ferry pier and the Greenpoint Ave subway station.
Both bedrooms have a full-sized bed (a king in one room, a queen in the other bedroom). There's a large dresser and built-in closet and a desk in one of the bedrooms, and two large windows with a partial view of the Empire State Building. The other bedroom is smaller, so there's no room for a desk, but there's a small closet and a queen-size bed. The bedroom windows face the backside of the building, so there's no street noise.
The kitchen is fully equipped, and you're welcome to use all of the stuff you find in my cabinets (condiments etc).
One thing to note is that there's NO proper living room (no TV). There is only a shared lounge / kitchen space with a small sofa.
The bathroom is tiny (which is why a female would be preferred), and there's NO washer / dryer. There are several laundromats about 5-10 mins from the apartment. (I provide towels, sheets, dish towels, etc.)
There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops just a few minutes away, and there are a couple of supermarkets nearby.
The NYC Ferry (to Midtown, Dumbo, Wall Street and Long Island City) is less than five minutes from the apartment, and the subway (Line G) is a six-minute walk from the apartment. It takes me about 30 mins to get to Grand Central / Times Square and about 20 mins to Union Square. I can walk to Williamsburg in 20 mins (Bedford Ave station) and to McCarren Park in 15 mins.
I keep the apartment clean and neat and just expect you to do the same, and to be respectful of my stuff.
NOTE: I am charging less rent than what I'm actually paying for the apartment, since I will keep my belongings (clothes, etc) in the apartment while I'm gone.
I require a full month's security deposit and proof of income.
Please message me for more photos or to set up an in-person viewing.
I work in travel and am very social - I am out and about most of the time, but I do enjoy socializing with my room mate when I'm home.
I keep my apartment neat and clean, and I only cook vegetarian in my house (but do not require you to do the same). I love cooking and baking, so my kitchen is well equipped. If you don't know this part of Brooklyn (Greenpoint), I'm happy to show you around and to introduce you to my favorite spots in the neighborhood :)
I am the main tenant.
- No smoking, no pets
- Start and end dates somewhat flexible - message me the exact dates that you need a space for.
- Security deposit required; references needed
- Sublease agreement to be signed
