Piano Studio available for practicing or other quiet work
Hourly Work Space
Piano Place is available as a one-off rental, or as an ongoing weekly rental paid monthly. Rental of whole days is also possible (currently just Mondays).
The studio is a nicely renovated room on the 2nd floor (walk-up) of a well-maintained 24/7 arts building. There is no window, but it is well-lit with pendulum and track lighting. The heat and a/c unit has its own separate connection to the outside air. An additional air purifier with Hepa filter increases the air circulation in the room.
You would also have access to the common room, bathroom and roof deck. The a/c in the common areas is fitted with a Merv filter.
This space is suitable only for piano practicing or clean, quiet work.
There is Wi-Fi access (it's a bit unstable sometimes...)
The contents of the room are:
Two pianos- one Steinway L grand, one Yamaha upright.
One table with chairs.
Two upholstered benches.
One dry-erase board and noticeboard on wheels.
About This Lister
I am a pianist and piano teacher who has lived and worked in the Park Slope area since 1992.
It's wonderful to now have a separate space in Gowanus where I can do my work!
I'm hoping others will enjoy the space as I do.
Lister's Relationship to the Space
I'm the current tenant.
Rental requirements
Hourly rates: With a minimum commitment of four hours per week, the rate is $20 per hour. With a commitment of less than four hours per week, the rate is $25 per hour.
Daily rates: Mondays are available for whole-day rental, at $200 per day.
Monthly payments should be made on the 1st of each month.
I am the leaseholder for the space.
