Hi! I'm Rebecca-Emma (all pronouns). Seeking a roommate to join me in collaborative living filled with acceptance and joy. Move-in date April 1 and space to explore March 15th if needed.
The apartment is, to me, quite dreamy. Tons of natural light, ~900 sq ft, and close to lots of Bushwick gems while being a bit out of the buzzing Bushwick vibes. I love the space so much, I've put a lot of heart into it and I tend to it with lots of love and care.
About you:
- Direct and gentle communicator
- Ask for what you want and need.
- Enthusiastic about keeping the home and tending to household things.
- Around my age or older. I’d say 30+ ideal.
- Queer, trans/nonbinary/gender-nonconforming/genderqueer, kinky and/or poly folx to the front.
- You’re a tidy person. Ie - You usually don’t leave dishes in the sink. You almost always put things away in their place after you use them.
- Loves dogs.
- Doesn't come with an animal friend of their own.
- Wants more than a ships passing in the night roommie dynamic. Friends who also give each other space.
- Must have a generally sex positive attitude. I’ve got big kinky Scorpio energy and I’ve been in the kink/sex pos community for over a decade. You don’t have to be that, just cool with that.
- Works out of the house or hybrid model. (Seeking someone who doesn’t work from home all days).
- You don’t bring the party home.
- Generally not a substance-fueled/focused human. Intentional about moderate use, sober, or in recovery. I don’t mind drinking in the home so long as it's not daily and you’re not getting really drunk regularly. I’m 🍄 and 🌱 friendly.
- Ideally someone who I can cook for/with and likes communal vibes paired with solo time and space.
- Must want a Free Palestine and believe in collective liberation. Being a comrade is a huge plus.
About the space:
- floor through and top floor apt ~900 sq feet
- Accessibility - the apartment is up two flights of stairs and is a walk-up.
- *Lots* of natural light from both sides of the apt. Nothing blocking light on either side. If the sun is out, it is in the space somewhere for most of the hours of the day.
- Common area is large and has huge window that faces the park.
- Laundry in the basement, and a really large laundromat with lots of sizes of industrial machines is right on the corner.
- About two blocks from the Knickerbocker M train. A 10 minute walk from Myrtle/Wyckoff L.
- Kitchen has lots of storage and counter space.
- Bathroom has shower and tub.
- There’s a dog in the space. She looks a lot like this emoji 🐕. She’s a German shepherd mix that looks like a cross between a dingo and a deer. The worst thing she’ll do is lick you to death. The only thing she loves more than people are balls. She’s kinda all the awesome things about dogs turned up to 11. She is a good listener and well trained (if I do say so myself).
About the room:
- Has window facing the park.
- Gets direct morning light.
- Is on opposite side of the apt from mine so doesn’t share a wall with another human's room.
- Has nice sized closet.
- Fits full/queen beds.
- Has a *really* tall ceiling.
- 34 y/o white queer bisexual bi/pangender Jew who does not believe in colonialism, seeks to unlearn and dismantle white supremacy, is anti-capitalist, wants a Free Palestine and fights for collective liberation.
- PolyAm / Kinky / Sex Pos / Sex Work pos.
- Clinical Social Worker (Therapist).
- Communication style is both direct and gentle and I appreciate similar.
- DJ and dance music enthusiast. Would love to share space with folx who appreciate music.
- Working hybrid from home / going into office one day a week.
- In recovery and on that sober journey.
- Huge nester…. It’s really important to me that home feels restorative and joyful.
- I have so many houseplants. Prepare to live in a jungle.
- Housekeeping is ritualistic for me and maintenance is the name of my home game, so finding collaborative rhythm to keep the space tidy is what I seek!
- I work hard to take good care of myself and seek to cohabitate with someone else who values rest and rejuvenation.
- COVID precautions are all about risk mitigation.
- I live with chronic pain that I manage actively through exercise and nutrition.
- Relatedly, I cook A TON and want to cook for you 🙂 Meal prepping, breakfast in the AM ready. Really, I want to feed you so much.
- I participate in organizing/activism/mutual aid.
- I’ve been told my “home game is strong”.

My landlord requires approval for subletters. Renter will need to submit an application with credit score, ID, proof of income. It's my experience this is more of a formality since he trusts me a lot. And, it's worth noting here.
