Hi there,

I'm moving upstate and renting my apartment, which I partly own. It's a 4bdm / 2 bath (80' long, 20' wide), currently occupied by two people: me, plus a 30 yr old male carpenter who is rarely here. I just rented my two rooms, at one end of the space, to a 33 yr. old male artist who is using my office as his painting studio. So, there is one room left at the other end: yours.

The rent is $1250, not including utilities. Water is covered by owner. There's baseboard heating everywhere, and in the common space a split-unit (heat and A/C). Your room is 19' long and 9' wide, roughly, and has two windows plus a closet. The ceiling is about 10' high.

The building is on the corner of Hancock St. and Stuyvesant Ave., the historic brownstone district of Bed Stuy. The apartment is on the fourth floor (no elevator). It's a beautiful space, with tons of light, hardwood floors, and relics of the 1890s build. I'll be taking most of the furniture, so you can personalize it. The building was gut renovated in 2012. There is laundry, and bike storage space in the basement. There's a roof, which you'd more or less control, with a covered deck, chairs, lounge, and unobstructed views of the skyline from northern Brooklyn to lower Manhattan and Queens. It's a gorgeous 10m walk to your nearest train, the A/C (25m express to Midtown). A 25m walk to G or J/M/Z. Citibike dock outside. All the cafes/bars/parks/etc. you could want nearby. Minus the usual, it's a quiet neighborhood and unusually friendly.

It can become a long-term lease. We are looking for a clean, easy, zen vibe.

About This Lister

You'll want to know more about the person who is here regularly, and the person here occasionally. I will set up a digital or in-person meeting for that.
