We own a large two family house on a residential street and live in spacious 3 bedroom furnished upstairs apt. Small furnished front room off dining room available now with single bed (storage underneath), dresser, small closet, bookcase, chair (can adjust furnishings for your needs). Also includes private access to balcony porch with bistro table, chairs, and plants.

Well-equipped kitchen— dishwasher and everything you need to cook, shared bathroom (extra large tub), living room, dining room, hardwood floors/high ceilings/French doors…old fashioned, artful, and eclectic from our travels… lots of windows, plants, & light.
Laundry room in basement with 1/2 bath.

We also have a small garden and gathering/ barbecue area behind house backing right up to Park.

We are right on newly renovated Highland Park/ Ridgewood Reservoir—huge green space, reservoir with ducks, swans, newly re-paved walking/biking/running paths, stone bridge, new frisbee golf course, tennis, ball fields, etc! Just beyond Bushwick close to Ridgewood off Jackie Robinson Parkway on Bulwer Place. 

10-15 min walk to A,C, L, J, Z, M trains Broadway Junction, Liberty Ave C , Van Siclen J, Z Bushwick/ Aberdeen L and LIRR—street parking great if you own a car—bike storage.

Looking for respectful, creative individual of any age who would enjoy sharing our home, living in a real house, and the surrounding park/nature, and won’t bring the party home.

Also have a 300 sq ft 1st floor art studio with built in work surfaces/ storage cabinets and a seperate garage workshop that will be for rent sometime early next year. Ask if interested.

About This Lister

We are 70 (young at heart/newly retired) and have worked therapeutically using creative arts, music, yoga, nature, and spirituality in healthcare and community settings. Guitar player and writer of poetry.

We are now transitioning to spend more time in our country house in PA in the new year. Away about 1/2 time.

We also have a another short term Listings roommate in her late 20’s who is a teacher, poet.

Our son and his fiancé  (in mid 30’s) live and work in the downstairs apartment and are artists/designers.

We’ve rented to quite a few artists/creatives/students/teachers over the years through Listings, and enjoy sharing our home and supporting those transitioning to NYC, here short term, or looking for a change from city streets. We are friendly and engaging, but also offer quiet, privacy and your own space, and we are away a lot.

We also have a large fluffy cat named Magic who usually comes with us to PA when we go.
