About this Service

I’m a consultant and grant writer passionate about helping working artists and creative organizations achieve financial resilience. From grants to fellowships to funded residencies, there are countless ways to fund your artistic practice and foster financial stability—but researching and pursuing these opportunities can be overwhelming. That’s where I come in.

I work closely with individuals, collectives, and organizations to create tailored funding strategies based on your specific goals and vision. Think of it as a personalized map for the next year of opportunities aligned with your creative path.

Here’s what you can expect:
- A flat fee of $250–$300 (sliding scale) includes 90 minutes of consultation, approximately 3–5 hours of in-depth research into grants, fellowships, and residencies aligned with your vision, and a tailored funding strategy customized for your needs.
- From there, if you’d like ongoing support, I offer grant-writing services at a sliding scale of $50–$75/hour, with a 10% discount for monthly retainers.

If you’d like to explore working together, I also offer a free 15–20 minute mini-consultation to learn about your goals and share how my services can support your creative vision. Feel free to reach out—I’d love to hear about your project and see how I can help!

About this Lister

Hi, I’m Harrison! I’m a creative producer and grant writer passionate about supporting artists and organizations in building thriving, interdependent arts ecosystems. I founded Run Artist Run to help artists navigate the often-complicated world of funding, offering tools and strategies to sustain and grow their creative practices.

I come from a background in documentary storytelling and sound art, which deeply informs my approach to this work. I believe every artist has a story worth funding, and I’m inspired by the incredible creativity and resilience of the people I collaborate with.

Some of my favorite projects include producing an upcoming feature-length documentary with Oscar-nominated Sandbox Films and Emmy & Peabody-winning Q-Ball Productions, and co-founding Not About Me, a community arts space in Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy neighborhood. I’m a graduate of Wesleyan University, where I studied experimental music composition and cultural anthropology.

What motivates me most is seeing artists take control of their financial futures and watching their work thrive as a result. I’d love to help you map out your next steps and bring your creative vision to life.

Background and Expertise

I came into development work in 2022, supporting artist friends and community organizations in New York’s Hudson Valley with larger-than-life creative projects in need of funding. Since then, I’ve raised tens of thousands of dollars for international artists and organizations, secured career-changing solo exhibitions and fellowships, produced artist programs, and grown my consultancy, Run Artist Run, into a knowledge-sharing platform for funding opportunities.

It’s been my privilege to work with incredible artists like painter Linda Colletta, sculptor Roland Mikhail, filmmaker Jayson Jackson, and dancer/choreographer Carolyn Dorfman, as well as organizations such as ArtPort Kingston, Sandbox Films, and Pique-nique Recordings. References from among these clients are available upon request.

I wear many hats in service of these projects—grant writer, gala organizer, film producer, and program administrator. But my favorite role, and where I truly shine, is as a storyteller: writing about your artistry or unrealized creative vision in ways that clearly communicate its potential for personal and societal impact.

These experiences have made me a versatile and knowledgeable teammate. I take great pride in a job well done and find immense joy in supporting sustainable practices for fellow artists and the organizations that resource our creative communities.
