Rooms for Sublet

$1,350/month

Location

Park Slope, Brooklyn

I'm subletting my room in a 2BR/1BA right where Park Slope and Prospect Heights meet. I'd love to have someone take the room for an entire month, but I'm also happy to prorate the price for a shorter term if it's a good fit. My roommate is away right now, so you'd be living with one person (he/him, late 20s, a friend of mine) for the first chunk. My roommate will get back in April, after which there will also be two very well-behaved cats living in the apartment—one super affectionate and one extremely shy.

The room has a queen bed, end table, desk, chair, closet, lamps, and a ton of books. Blanket and pillows, if you like, but no sheets. I'll clear out my stuff so there's room for your belongings.

In the large common space, we have a big flat-screen TV, countertop dishwasher, microwave, and a shoulder/back massage machine (lol). Super well-equipped kitchen, good if you're a happy cook (or not!).

Both the bedroom and the living room have high ceilings and get beautiful light at different times of day.

We're not on a super quiet street but we are extremely conveniently located: within a 5 minute walk to Atlantic Ave/Barclays Center (subway and LIRR—easy access to JFK), several grocery stores, lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and bars; 7 minutes to Whole Foods, BAM, and Vanderbilt Ave (more restaurants, ice cream shops, etc.); 15 minutes to Prospect Park, Fort Greene Park, Lafayette Avenue C and Fulton St G; 20 mins to Trader Joe's.

Ideally, you are conscientious and tidy; you clean up after yourself and will be proactive about replacing household items (paper towels, etc). You won't have to help out with cat care, except perhaps occasionally putting food out for them (and only if you don't mind doing that).

No tobacco and no couples, sorry!

About This Lister

I'm a writer in my late 20s and I've lived in this apartment with my roommate (who is also my very close friend) for around six years. She/her.

We both like watching films and going to the park and are passionate about food.

Our household life is pretty laid back. We clean the apartment thoroughly on a regular schedule. I think we both believe that dishes should be done before going to bed, but it's OK if something gets in the way every once in a while. The two golden rules are: 1) that you do your best to be thoughtful; and 2) no outside shoes in the house!!!
