Hello, I'm renting my art studio for the summer. It's part of the Gowanus creative studios in heart of the creative hub that's Gowanus Brooklyn. It's a great space for a visual artist where you can be free to create and make a mess. It's nice open space with super high ceilings and an exposed brick wall. There's a slop sink down the hall, a common room and a beautiful roof garden one building over. You'll have a choice of two ways to access the studio which is on the second floor, a flight of stairs through the front door, or the side door which has a ramp for bringing in large materials. Free Wifi, utilities included and a big perk is an Italian bakery/coffee just downstairs. I also recently added a loft shelf for extra canvases. The building has a door code and you can access 24 hours a day and it's usually busy with artists and small businesses. You can choose to leave your door open and be social or close the door for quiet and privacy. Right now all of my artwork is in the space but I will be moving everything out and cleaning before the first of June.

I'm a mixed media artist from California who's been a Brooklyn resident for 5 years. I've had the Gowanus studio for a year and a half and it's been great, I've done some of my best work here having the freedom to spread out, make a mess and experiment. I'm moving in with my partner in June and moving my studio into my old apartment which I why I'm leaving Gowanus Creative Studios, otherwise I would stay. The space is perfect for a visual artist, it's very open and the light is good even though there isn't a window. The landlord/building manager and staff are amazing, helpful and kind. The building is filled with an eclectic mix of artists and small business and has an overall great vibe.
