Bright airy room available for sublet in our lovely apartment in the heart of Prospect Park East (PLG). Over the years, colleagues of all types have enjoyed these minimalist lodgings to rest and recharge amidst the bustle of Brooklyn.

This third-floor walk-up flat has a large full kitchen, spacious bathroom, serene living room with giant flatscreen, tiled floors. Google "Loud Baby" coffee shop – we are a block north on Flatbush.

The room itself is furnished with a queen bed, desk, full dresser, small storage unit, clothes closet, lamp, full-length mirror. Situated at the back of the apartment, this incredibly quiet room looks onto a courtyard, sharing no walls with any other bedroom.

Available weekly at $495 / daily at $89.
Maximum stay is 4 weeks (28 days).

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
An epicentre of culture, PLG is home to tons of great bars, restaurants, coffee shops, retail. Grocery store across the street; two other supermarkets very close by. Three laundromats within two blocks. B41 bus right outside our door. Q/B trains five minute walk away. Prospect Park itself is mere steps from the subway station – hiking, running, biking, relaxing, bird watching are just a few of the many activities offered by this iconic and incomparable green space.

HOUSE RULES
At this flat, we go by strict “camping rules” – leave it better than you found it. Dishes are washed immediately. Messes are cleaned up promptly. The drain catch is dealt with directly after showering. The pictures included here are what we expect the apartment to always look like. There’s no “leaving it until later” at our place – applicants with filthy/noisy habits are encouraged to look elsewhere for lodging.

This apartment is very much a sanctuary. Since the outside city is chaotic and unpredictable, we cherish having a place to detach from the bustling crowds. Business/socializing is expected to take place outside the apartment, since there are literally thousands of spots in the city to meet up with friends/colleagues.

We also avoid harsh smells (no febreze/strong perfume/air fresheners/smoking/incense/artificial cleaners). No pirating over Wi-Fi. No mail sent to the household. Amazon items must be delivered to the many nearby lockers. Due to a full flat (a couple, a cat, and a lodger) no other overnight guests are allowed – a rule we also heed.

About This Lister

We are a couple who both work in the performing arts – one actress, one playwright.

Since we are both half-citizens of other countries, we seem get along with other individuals who straddle more than one nationality. This is, by no means, a requirement – the ideal lodger will be anyone with an urbane and worldly outlook on life.

We enjoy talking about movies, plays, art, books – but also love *not* conversing when we are working from home, and will absolutely respect your own need for silence and seclusion.

We live with a very coy but lovely long-hair tortoiseshell cat, who ultimately decides who should stay in our flat. (She's an amazing judge of character!) Needless to say, you must enjoy cats.
