Hi neighbors. Thank you for all the love and care in this group ♥️ I’m looking for temporary but longerish housing for my disabled mom, myself, and my two sweet ESA dogs. I moved us into a house on Villa and Altadena a month ago to take care of my mom through major illness (we’re renting). We evacuated Tuesday night and the house is currently filled with ash and soot and everything is saturated with smoke. My mom can’t safely live there for a long while until we can have it properly cleaned and I figure out what furniture and clothes we can safely keep, which will take me a minute because I’m working full time while caring for my mom and also hadn’t finished unpacking yet. It took me awhile to find this house that meets all her/our needs, and is pleasant and sunny and just a nice space to be in. My mom needs no more than two stairs inside or outside, a walk in or easily accessible shower, no carpet because of my mom’s asthma and other health issues, enough space for her to get around spaces with her IV pole, and an outdoor space for my dogs because it’s just me taking care of my mom right now and it helps to be able to let them out in a pinch if I’m in the middle of taking care of her (I still walk them at least twice a day and take them to the park often). We’d love to stay on the east side - eagle rock, highland park, glassell park, echo park, Pasadena if it’s farther from the fire and less smoke saturated. Also open to really anywhere that could work, from Venice to central LA to Long Beach. On another note - I’m sourcing clothes and essentials for the many people and families who have lost their homes staying at the hotel we’re staying at right now - if anyone has clothes or shoes from 18m to adult please reach out and I will get it directly to the people who need it, many of whom lost their homes in Altadena. I also can facilitate meals for anyone who needs them through various mutual aid groups I’m working and especially feed the streets la. Thank you for reading and much love to you all ♥️
I’m a musician, actor, writer, and now full time care giver to my mom who is experiencing major illness right now. I have two sweet and gentle ESA pups, both shepherd mixes - Luna and Willow. I’m blessed with an amazing community here and LA and I’m kindly just grateful to be here.
